Washington National Cathedral
Washington, District of Columbia, United States · 1910 · Classical & Traditional Architecture
Built in a Gothic Revival idiom, the cathedral's west front rises in twin pinnacled towers around a deep pointed-arch portal and a large rose window. Its pale stone is articulated with buttresses, tracery and layered arcades, giving the facade strong vertical emphasis.
