Eames House (Case Study House No. 8)
Los Angeles, California, United States · Mid-Century Modern
Architectural reference — not an AmericanStruct project. A well-known building shown for inspiration. Facts marked “Wikidata” are taken from Wikidata; photographs are credited below and used under their licences.
Charles and Ray Eames designed this house and studio in Los Angeles as a light, gridded steel frame filled with glass, translucent panels and solid color blocks. Its slim black framing and diagonal bracing give the facade a graphic, almost catalog-like order set against a row of eucalyptus trees. It is a National Historic Landmark.
