Santiago Calatrava's transit hub at the World Trade Center site is known as the Oculus for its central hall, a soaring white space framed by rows of slender ribs that meet along a narrow skylight. Outside, the ribs extend upward into two wing-like forms that stand out among the surrounding towers. The building serves as the terminal for PATH trains to New Jersey.
