The Leibniz Supercomputing Centre of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities operates its machines from a large cubic building on the Garching research campus near Munich. A translucent, finely gridded facade gives the computer cube a calm, monolithic presence. The institution itself was founded in 1962.
