Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital

Massachusetts, United States · Contemporary Architecture

Architectural reference — not an AmericanStruct project. A well-known building shown for inspiration. Facts marked “Wikidata” are taken from Wikidata; photographs are credited below and used under their licences.

Set on the Charlestown waterfront, this rehabilitation hospital stacks horizontal bands of metal panel and glass into a curving, layered mass topped by a thin projecting roof plane. Ranks of sunshade fins wrap the taller wing, and a public harborwalk runs along its pier edge.
